Editorial: Is there a tower down around here?

Author’s note: I’m not a cellular engineer, so take what I’m saying with a grain of salt. If you are, and you do know what’s happening, leave a comment or shoot me an email at quinn.jones@hbstv.net.

LABADIE, Missouri — My mother, on her way to Walmart, decided to call my Dad, only for the call to be dropped immediately. I tried calling, only for the same thing to happen. Rinse and repeat for 20 minutes, to no avail, until we reached Washington. Suddenly, it worked.

And we were able to continue using the phone, until we got back near Labadie. All of the sudden – Boom! All circuits are busy. But you may be asking – why? Well, as I said in the title, I think that the storms earlier blew down a tower. I’m not certain enough to call the sheriff’s department and report storm damage, but I am certain enough to with a scathing editorial article.

Verizon needs to build better towers. They need to get up off of their ivory thrones, get out there, and build towers that cannot fall down. If they don’t, I might as well switch to TEGNA Wireless, presented by Comcast.

But what the hell do I know? I’m not a communications professional, I’m a high schooler with a computer.
