METAIRIE, Louisiana (HBS) — In the wake of the closure of one of the weather community’s most unique platforms, former Dorian Channel COO zachNet broke the silence on the behalf of CEO Dorian Monday as he closed down the TDC Discord server, revealing the “next big project from Dorian and friends” as RFNet.
RFNet, as described in the announcement, is a project focusing entirely on the technical aspects of weather broadcasting. This is a major departure from the past programming of the Dorian Channel, which carried more of a focus on the personalities and talent behind the control desk. RFNet promises to make up for that, saying that it will be home to “the latest in technological advances from the services The Dorian Channel once had.” When HBS asked RFNet CEO Dorian for comment, he declined the request, but after further inquiry, was open to the idea of an interview at a later date.
This comes as a shock to the HBS newsroom, as journalists were expecting the reveal of a joint project between Zach and Dorian, rumored to be in development since April, which would later be confirmed in August to be Mist Weather Media.
As of the most recent update to this article, RFNet has not yet fully launched, being offline at the time of writing. We currently await further word from Dorian as to when it will launch.
