AFFTON, Missouri (HBS) — People looking to grab a late-night slinger from the Courtesy Diner in Affton were met with an unpleasant surprise Friday night, when the diner appeared to close earlier than expected.
The diner, stated to operate from 6 AM to midnight on Fridays, had the lights turned out and the doors closed by 10:30 PM. Instead of a parking lot full of people coming home from the ballgame, there were two police cruisers in the lot, with St. Louis County police confronting an unidentified man.
When we reached out to the Saint Louis County Police by email, they responded:
“It was a domestic issue and had nothing to do with the diner. The entire incident was unfounded.”
The diner has received our request for comment, but has not yet responded.
