Kodi Cable and Weather Ranch merge to form Mist Weather Media; HBS among list of charter affiliates

ST. LOUIS, Missouri — In January, HBS was made aware of a new streaming project from zachNet, known as Mist Weather Media. There was no other info other than the name at the time, but HBS analysts predicted that it would be some sort of streaming venture. These speculations were later confirmed by an insider (name redacted by their request) in early July, making tensions rise within the inner circle of the HBS network.

But finally, after nearly nine months of planning and fine-tuning from their side, and furious speculation on ours, zachNet’s Hub rebranded on Sunday, becoming Mist Weather Media. In the announcement, MWM co-founder zachNet revealed that it was not an entirely new project like some had thought it was. Rather, it was a merger between two of the dominant powers of the weather streaming community, Kodi Cable Network and Weather Ranch Streaming.

Upon finding out about this, HBS editor and anchor Quinn Jones said this:

While this is a great opportunity for those involved, and will likely make the future of independent digital broadcasting more secure, this was initially speculated to have a negative effect on HBS.

After the initial leak of what Mist was going to be, HBS executives were in frequent contact with MWM administrators on the status of HBS’s partnership with them. While there was never any official confirmation, it looked as if HBS would not be involved due to its connection to the leaks. However, HBS was partnered with the two constituent entities of Mist, those being KCN and WR.

However, zachNet would later clear up the confusion Monday night in HBS staff chat, where he officially confirmed that HBS was indeed an affiliate of Mist, alongside popular networks, such as Dorian’s RFNet.

HBS can now be streamed on PC, Mac, and mobile devices at live.mistweather.com.
