Editorial: MoDOT makes improvements to Highway MM in Franklin County

GRAY SUMMIT, Mo. — After weeks of construction, the Missouri Department of Transportation has nearly completed improvements on Highway MM in Franklin County. These improvements include new culverts, a new shoulder, and repaving.

Highway MM is a regionally important supplemental highway, connecting Gray Summit to Labadie, and serving Purina Farms. Many people use it, and therefore, these improvements are justified. HBS couldn’t interview any locals, so in place of a quote, I (a Gray Summit local) have decided to voice my opinion.

I love it. That road has needed a shoulder for so long, and now we finally have it. Huge props to MoDOT for the decision, and of course, the construction workers for their great service to the public.

More expansions and improvements to the town are expected to come, with traffic lights for a new four-way crossing and commercial development having recently been constructed, as well as a hew housing development by McBride Homes in the works, per the Missourian.
